16 Days of Activism
Say NO to Domestic Violence & Abuse
16 Days of Activism
Join us for 16 Days of Activism 25 November – 10 December
A campaign of compassion and action
From 25 November to 10 December, Pop In is joining the global movement to end violence against women and children. The 16 Days of Activism is about raising awareness, sparking conversations, and taking real steps toward a safer, more equal future.
Domestic and family violence often hides in silence. But together, we can break that silence and shine a light on the issue — through connection, education, and action. Whether you're showing up, speaking out, or simply starting a conversation, your involvement matters.
Over these 16 days, there are several ways to get involved — each one designed to inspire action, build awareness, and create lasting change across the Southern Highlands.

How you can get involved
-
Attend Light The Night
7-8pm November 27th 2025
A powerful evening of strength and solidarity. Together we’ll remember lives lost to domestic violence, and take a stand for change. Join your community as we light the night for a safer future here in Australia, and across the world.
-
Sponsor a Corporate Lantern
We invite businesses and organisations to make a powerful statement of support by sponsoring a corporate lantern for $500. A contribution that will help us continue our vital work in supporting women and children impacted by domestic violence in the Southern Highlands.

16 Days, 16 Ways
TAKE THE CHALLENGE
Take as many actions as you can throughout the 16 days - one small step that adds up to real change. From sharing information to donating, from speaking up to showing support, these tasks are designed to help raise awareness, start conversations, and generate vital funds for local women and children escaping violence.
16 DAYS, 16 WAYS
This is our mission, and we want you to be a part of it. Every action matters, every voice counts, and every step brings us closer to a future free from violence.
POST A COMMITMENT Write a personal commitment on social media about how you will contribute to ending domestic violence. Use #PopInCommitment.
CLUB CHAT As your sports and social clubs wrap up for the year, pop on a spot of orange and grab a photo together. Make a commitment to respectful behaviour and to keep each other accountable.
ATTEND LIGHT THE NIGHT Carry an orange lantern to show your support for ending gender-based violence. Find the event details here
TALK TO A M8 Have a conversation with a male friend, family member, or colleague about what healthy, respectful relationships look like. This is great education.
BAKE SALE Bake a cake or a batch of cookies and sell them to friends, family, or colleagues. Donate the proceeds to Pop In.
SPONSOR ME Do a sponsored activity - walk 16,000 steps, do 16 push ups a day, or run 16km. The more activities you achieve, the greater your sponsorship.
SWEAR JAR Set up a swear jar. Drop in a gold coin for every naughty word you hear.
WALK, TALK, SHARE Watch this incredibly impactful clip and share what you learned with a friend. Watch as a group and discuss what you can do to make a difference.
16 ACTS OF KINDNESS Do 16 small acts of kindness in your community. Offer to help someone with groceries, buy a coffee for a stranger, bring in your neighbour’s garbage bin from the street, or simply give someone a genuine compliment. Demonstrate kindness and respect.
GET THE BOSS TO DONATION MATCH Talk to your employer about doing a donation-matching day. Ask the boss to match all staff donations to Pop In, making every contribution go twice as far.
SHARE A STORY With permission, share a story of a survivor who has given you hope. Names are not needed, it's a story of hope (do not do this online).
HOST A FUNDRAISER Host a small fundraiser event. This could be a charity movie night, a garage sale or a morning tea.
TEA AND TALK Invite a few friends over for a coffee or tea and a chat about the campaign. Collect items together as a group donation to our community pantry in return for the cuppa and biscuits.
ORANGE OUTFIT Wear something orange - the official colour of 16 Days of Activism, and tell someone why you're wearing orange.
SPEAK UPShare one of Pop In's social media posts or a post from another domestic violence organisation to your own feed. Use the caption to explain why it's important to you.
BEYOND 16 DAYS Join our regular giving program. A small, consistent donation goes a long way in providing ongoing support for women and children all year round.
