Pop In Newsletter July 2025
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our amazing community.
As we reflect on the past financial year, we’re filled with gratitude for the incredible support that continues to surround Pop In.
Over 200 new referrals came through our doors, with 243 women and children engaged in case work and many more supported through our group programs like Learn & Play, Pop In Connect and community workshops. These spaces continue to offer connection, care and confidence-building for women and children across the Southern Highlands.
This past year has been one of growth and connection. From expanding our case work capacity to deepening our clinical expertise, we’re proud of the care and consistency our team delivers and the feedback we receive reflects the impact of that work. A significant number of people came to us through self-referral, and for 67%, we were the very first service they reached out to for help. That trust means everything.
We’re continually impressed by the support from the wider community. From pantry donations to generous fundraising events and in-kind support, the recognition we receive for our work continues to grow and we don’t take it for granted.
We’re also thrilled to formally confirm Finette’s new role as Clinical and Operations Manager. Finette will continue to develop and lead our service delivery while working directly with the board on key strategic initiatives as we move forward into our next chapter.
And finally, thank you to everyone who contributed to our EOFY donation campaign. We raised an incredible $6,304! Every dollar directly supports our ability to deliver vital, frontline services for women and children.
We’re so proud of what we’ve achieved together and so grateful for your continued belief in our work. Looking ahead, we’re more committed than ever to reaching more families, delivering more impact and raising even greater funds to meet the growing need.
Thank you for walking beside us, we can’t wait to share what’s next.

Our Reason Why
When Mary* reached out to Pop In, she had just escaped years of violence. Facing serious health challenges and without the financial means to relocate or access safe housing, she needed more than just emergency support — she needed someone in her corner.
Mary shared that her ex-partner would often target her beloved dog, knowing how much her animals meant to her, as another way to cause emotional harm and exert control.
Over four months, our team walked alongside Mary with emotional support, financial relief, relocation assistance and ongoing care. With time, she was able to safely rebuild her life interstate, surrounded by the services and people she needed most.
Mary’s journey is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when women are met with compassion and community.
