Pop In Newsletter August 2025
Dear Friend,
I’m delighted to share some initial findings from Pop In’s recent independent evaluation, completed by the University of Wollongong.
The report assessed Pop In’s work against a best-practice model for domestic violence and abuse services. It highlighted our commitment to:
Coordinated support aligned with the needs of women and children
Reducing the need for women to repeatedly tell their stories
Supporting long-term recovery and resilience
To ensure a thorough review, the evaluation included:
Interviews with clients, internal and external stakeholders
A distance-travelled survey of a large population of our clients
Review of key demographic data
From this, we gained valuable insights into the types of abuse experienced by our clients at initial engagement:
Emotional – 24%
Psychological – 23%
Physical – 15%
Financial – 14%
Stalking/harassment – 8%
Child abuse – 6%
Technology abuse – 5%
Sexual abuse – 5%
These findings confirm both the challenges women and children in our community face, and the critical importance of the work Pop In does every day. We look forward to sharing more with you in the months ahead, and continuing to evolve Pop In in line with client needs and best practice.
With gratitude,
Vicki Kelley
Chair and Co-Founder
