Pop In Newsletter December 2025

Today marks the end of 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, however, there are still many ways to get involved. Whether it’s raising awareness, joining events, or simply starting a conversation, every action helps shine a light on this important issue and shows that our community will not stand by in silence.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who joined us at Light The Night. Your presence and support helped create an evening full of hope, remembrance, and community spirit. A special thank you to Briars Inn, Zephyr Ensemble, Rob Mulally, and our lantern sponsors for their incredible support.

As we approach Christmas and New Year, we reflect on:

  • The growing number of Southern Highlands women and children who have come to Pop In this year for support and kindness;

  • The joy and happiness of the children who have participated in Pop In's Play and Learn programme;

  • The many donations large and small, and the impact each donation has had on the support we have been able to provide;

  • The many amazing achievements we have accomplished and the many challenges we have faced this year;

  • The strength and resilience of this community;

  • All of those in our community who wont experience the joy of a safe and supportive festive season; and

  • We commit to our goal that the SH community becomes known as taking a stand against DV and abuse.

Thank you all for your support, friendship and commitment to Pop In throughout 2025.

May your holiday season be filled with joy, peace and happiness.

With gratitude,

Vicki Kelley

Light The Night Event

On Thursday the 27th November, Pop In and the Wingecarribee community gathered at Briars to honour and remember the lives of the 62 women and 23 children who have lost their lives to gender-based violence in Australia so far this year.

Each glowing lantern represented a life, a story, a name, and each plant a child lost. The Wingecarribee community showed amazing support, coming together to say NO to domestic violence.

We’d like to share a big thank you to everyone who helped bring it together.

Gratitude to Briars for hosting, the Zephyr Ensemble for the beautiful chorale, and Rob Mulally for the stunning drone photography and videography.

And to those who joined us or sponsored a lantern—your support meant everything:
